Hollenshead endorses Gatti in Louisiana Senate race
BOSSIER CITY — The third-place finisher in the Louisiana Senate District 36 race has endorsed attorney Ryan Gatti in the runoff election.
Todd Hollenshead, who received 26 percent of the vote in Saturday’s balloting, said the Legislature needs to go in a different direction.
Gatti will meet state Rep. Henry Burns in the Nov. 21 runoff. Burns led the three-candidate field with 40 percent of the vote but that was short of the majority needed to win. Gatti was second with 34 percent. Both men are Republicans.
“We need fresh ideas and someone that won’t be a ‘yes man’ to anyone but the people he represents,” Hollenshead said in his endorsement message. “Career politicians helped Bobby Jindal make a mess of our state. As I have said throughout this campaign, the definition of insanity is electing the same legislators over and over again and expecting different results.”
Burns and Gatti are running to succeed Sen. Robert Adley of Benton, who is term limited. The Senate seat represents all of Bienville and Webster parishes and parts of Bossier, Claiborne and Red River parishes. Burns gave up his House seat to run for the Senate. His legislative assistant won Burns’ House seat.
Great week. A few highlights. Spoke to men’s groups in Benton and Princeton and really feel God moving in our area.
Spoke Wednesday to our middle schoolers at church about sanctity of life.
Today joined the community to pray at Airline where FCA members are standing for God and being pestered by the ACLU. I was amazed at the prayers and the attendance. God is stirring at Airline through Principal Jason Rowland and the students! Very happy with my alma mater being the starting place for revival in our city. Katherine, our oldest, is a sophomore at Airline and excited about what’s happening! KTBS interviewed her. Please pray these students will grow in courage and boldness!!
Teachers For Ryan
Teachers support our campaign: I will work to end Common Core and fight for our teachers. We will return control to our local school boards and teachers. I will treat teachers like the asset to the community they are- not the way they’ve been treated the last eight years. I am who I am because of teachers and I will stand up for our educators ALWAYS!!!!
Why We Are With Ryan
Thank you to Daniel Hedrick, Richey Jackson and Sam Mims for sharing why you are standing with me for District 36.
Sammy Kershaw Endorses Ryan Gatti
I’m proud to announce that Sammy Kershaw, who is a huge friend to North Louisiana, and fully invested in the future of our state, has joined my campaign.
Aaron McAvoy wrote a song that says it all. I dare you not to hum it, especially the fact that my last name is the name of your favorite pizza place. Thanks, Aaron, for bringing some fun to the campaign.
As your next State Senator, I will bring strong leadership to Baton Rouge, make decisions that will grow jobs, vote against tax increases and protect the values we live in Northwest Louisiana. Please share our new commercial and thank you for your constant support.
Voices of Our Citizens Matter
One of the greatest parts of this campaign is having the chance to visit with so many people in towns and cities throughout this district. And everywhere we go, we carry a map of the district. People sign on their street and it will hang in my office as a daily reminder of who I am serving every single day.
Ryan Gatti – Fresh Ideas
Our first commercial is starting tomorrow. I would love for you to watch it and share it with all your friends and family and encourage them to share it too. I am the candidate for State Senate District 36 with new energy, fresh ideas and the courage and conviction to always stand up for the people of Northwest Louisiana. Thank you for the support and the prayers.
One of the greatest gifts of this campaign has been to have my brother introduce me. His honesty (sometimes he is almost too honest) his candor and love are a true gift. This man knows who I really am and its an honor to have his tireless support in this campaign and his words..
Defund Planned Parenthood
My position is simple. We must defund Planned Parenthood.
Thank you to everyone who came last night. What a turnout. The mounting support humbles me and I will not let you down.
This campaign is about Faith, Family and Friends. It will be the basis of every decision I make and the foundation of everything I will do as your next State Senator. I will be your voice and make the choices that are right for our families.
Our first commercial debuts this weekend during the LSU baseball game. I would appreciate you watching and sharing it with your family and friends.
Last night was very special to me, Susan and the girls. The outpouring of love from all of you was amazing. Take a look a short video from the announcement.
My priority, as your next State Senator, will be to be a leader that promotes a business environment that grows our economy and generates jobs while creating a regulatory environment that allows our industries to thrive. Protecting what is most important to us will drive every decision I make and you can count on me to be a strong voice in Baton Rouge for who we are and what matters most to our families.
